Marc Houtzager big winner at Indoor Drachten

The past two weeks Drachten offered horselovers in the northern Netherlands plenty of possibilities to see their favorite riders in action. This afternoon the international competition was concluded with the CSI 3* Lodewijk Assurantiën Grand Prix. A total of 57 riders tried their luck at the 1.55 meter course. Only 8 were left to compete in the jump off. Showing this class was a big challenge. Winner was Dutch rider Marc Houtzager with Sterrehof’s Calimero ( Quidam de Revel) and takes home the grand prize of €23.100,-. He was the last rider to start in the jump off and brought the crowd to the edge of their seat as he confidently charged to the finish line in 34.93 seconds. German rider Felix Hassmann and Cayenne Wz ( Claudio) placed second in 35.85 seconds. He was the first rider with a clear round in the jump off . His time was a challenge for most riders and in the end he was awarded with a second place. Adrian Schmid and Alcazar Sitte (Rexar de Houssoit) finished in 35.85 seconds. The Swizz rider confidently rode to the finish. His result was good enough to take home the third price. Austrian rider Julia Keyser came in fourth. Her horse Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z (Caretano) showed great form, they stopped the time at 36.71 seconds. German rider Harm Lahde already won a class earlier this weekend at Indoor Drachten and continued his great performance during the Grand Prix.
