Germany’s Markus Beerbaum and the nine-year-old Hanoverian mare Charmed 2 (Chacco-Blue x Plural) came out victorious in the €24,600 grand prix qualifier at the Autumn Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Olivia Nova, Spain. On Saturday, October 7, 2017, Beerbaum joined a list of 44 entries on the 1.45m, 13-obstacle-track designed by Germany’s Christian Wiegand. Ten riders proceeded to the jump-off, with Beerbaum piloting Charmed 2 to a winning time of 38.94s. The class also offered riders a chance at capturing valuable points towards the Longines Ranking. The Czech Republic’s Anna Kellnerova and the ten-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion Classic (Armitage x Chin Chin) finished in a time of 39.28s for 2nd place. In 3r place, Ireland’s Michael Kearins and the 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare Miss G Tracy (Douglas x Derrylin XX) finished on a time of 40.75s. The €25,000 Grand Prix will take place on Sunday.
