The Van Schijndel Derby in Eindhoven was a very thrilling battle that challenged every rider in this 1,50m-high course. The 21-jump course, with water jump and Irish wall, turned out to be so challenging, that no combination made it to the finish with a clear record. The first place went to France's Maximillien Lemercier with four penalties in a time of 160,14 seconds. Him and Dandy du Calvaire (Berlin) started sixth and only made a minor mistake on the vertical with planks, a fence that turned out to be a pitfall for many others as well. Lemercier was the rightful winner of the 13 2000 euros prize. In second place, we saw Sweden's Erika Lickhammer. During the presentation ahead of the class, her Toupie du Quesney (Ogrion des Champs) was very calm. When she started last, everyone hoped for her to be the only one to go clear in this exciting Derby. She ended up finishing in 154,55 seconds with 8 penalties. The Dutch honor was held high by Mr Derby himself, Wout-Jan van der Schans. This experienced rider, who knows how to deal with natural obstacles, showed a very nice round with Eloma's Blue SFN (Mr Blue). Unfortunately, he finished with 8 penalties in 160,22 seconds. Kevin Jochems and Evita (Canturano) finished fourth. He showed a confident round over this tricky course. Bianca Schoenmakers and Dha Dha (Douglas) took the fifth spot with 12 penalties.
