McAuley makes the Neckerhal in Mechelen color green

In Mechelen it was up to the 5-star riders to show their worth in the Samsung 1m45 Speed and Handiness class. 32 riders entered the show ring for this class where jumping penalties are translated into penalty seconds. The fastest round came from Felix Hassmann. He and SL Bazonado (f. SI Baluarte) crossed the finish line after 56,55 seconds. Unfortunately the 12-year old gelding touched one fence which resulted in an overall time of 60,55 seconds. In the end he ended on sixth place. Besides the sixth place, Hassmann won a new washing machine as well. The Irish rider McAuley rode to the first place. He jumped a clear round with Valentino Tuilliere (f. Diamant de Semilly) in 57,75 seconds. The second place went to the Belgian rider François Mathy Jr. He stood on the lead for a very long tome with the 12-year old Falco vd Clehoeve (f. Quickfeuer van Koekshof). Julien Epaillard and Instit de Jucaso (f. Cooper vd Heffinck) took account of the third place. They cleared the course in 58,09 seconds. Daniel Deusser and SX Hidalgo VG (f. Quadrillo) ended on fourth place. Olivier Philippaerts and Ustina Sitte (f. Clinton) were fifth.   Click here for the results
