McVean continues good form at Woodhill

The feature class had perfect conditions on Sunday afternoon, the Bayer/Aon Insurance Superleague, saw 11 starters take place over the Gerrit Beker designed Ring 1 course. Only two combinations made it through the first round without faults, being winner Katie McVean on Dunstan Springfield who, managed two faultless rounds to be our only combination to jump double clear and our clear winner. Amanda Wilson from Northland on Showtym Cassanova also made it through to the jump off, however although slightly quicker than Katie she had an unfortunate rail at the second jump in the double that placed her second. The fastest 4 falter was Luke Dee on Ombudsman third, and then the 8 faulters, Jake Lambert, Quality NZPH was 4th and Sam McIntosh took out 5th and 6th respectively with Estina and Argento WHS. Katie was presented with the winners cover and rosette by Tom McKeller of Aon Kumeu. Saturday night saw the entertaining Wild River Horse and Pony Slalom relay, this event was incredibly exciting with a pony and horse randomly selected to pair up and race against others teams. This fast paced, knock out speed event saw eventual winners Danielle Bragg on San Mateo Justice and her Pony Partner Imogen Wright and Griffen Valley, taking home a Wild River Winter Cover.
