No Individual Olympic Finals for Janika Sprunger

The Swiss show jumpin chef d'Equipe, Andy Kistler has tied the knot and decided what three riders will continue to the individual show jumping finals at the Deodoro Equestrian Center at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The rules state only three riders per country can compete at the finals. Switzerland however qualified all four horse-rider combinations. Most countries opt to let go the riders according to their results of the team finals. However for Switzerland all riders finished with a total of 9 points. In his choice Kistler has decided to whitdraw Janika Sprunger. Steve Guerdat, the 2012 London Olympic Champion, will represent Switzerland together with Martin Fuchs and Romain Duguet. "I hoped for a place in the finals of my first Olympic Games. It was my biggest dream with "Kompi". But my fellow country man deserve it as much," states Sprunger on her Facebook.
