O'Neill and Killossery Kaiden claim World Championships Title 6 year old horses

At the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium only 9 out of the 40 finalists with the 6-year-old horses, qualified for the ultimate jump-off. Ireland's Gerard O'Neill and the Irish bred stallion Killossery Kaiden (Lux Z x Cruising) speeded to victory claiming the Gold. The 31-year-old O'Neill crossed the finish in a total of 47.85 seconds. Vice-Champion was Dutch Julian de Boer and the KWPN-gelding Fernando V (Zapatero VDL x Larino). The pair finished in a record time of 35.53 seconds, but jumped one rail down.  de Boer and Fernando only qualified for the finals this morning as a reserve combination. Belgium's Thierry Goffinet completed the top five with Kannabis van de Bucstale (Contact vd Bisschop x Concorde). Last month the pair was the vice Belgium Champion for 6 year old horses, today they took home the bronze. Last year's number three, Willem Greve and Formidable (by Carambole) placed fourth this time. The top five was completed by Norwegian's Victoria Gulliksen and KWPN-horse Firefly H (by Douglas).
