Only six riders managed to qualify for the 1.45m high jump off and Paolo Paini was the fastest of those riders. Aboard Chaccolie (Chacco Blue) he completed the shortened course in 38,28 seconds, which gave him the victory with a 0,28 seconds head start to Matilde Giorgia Bianchi and Coeur Blesse Z (Conterno-Grande). Egenio Grimaldi joined them on the podium with the eleven year old Darco-gelding Hurricaine van de Fruitkorf, they completed the course in 38,85 seconds.
