Philipp Weishaupt on top of the Abu Dhabi GP qualifier

In the 1.45m Grand Prix qualifier of Abu Dhabi local it was German show jumping rider Philipp Weishaupt who speeded to victory with Belo Horizonte (Baloubet du Rouet).

Six combinations made it a clear finish in this Grand Prix qualifier. Eventually it was Weishaupt with the 11-year-old Baloubet du Rouet-son, Belo Horizonte who set the record time. The pair stopped the clock in 68,75 seconds. With almost five seconds difference Ireland's Shane Breen settled for runner-up with his Colestus-son, Colmar. Amre Hamcho completed the stage with his Westfalen-gelding, Al Murtaijz (Pilgrim II).  Just outside the stage it was Austria's Zayd Kuzbari who placed fourth with Lionell 19 (Limbus) under the saddle.
