The first international five-star show jumping event of the year kicked off with a 1.40m speed class. In this Prize of Gönnerclub Pferdesport it was France's Philippe Rozier who claimed victory aboard the 13-year-old Selle Français, Quel Chanu (by Flipper d'Elle). The pair crossed the finish clear in 59.22 seconds. Switzerland's Nadja Peter Steiner followed as runner-up with Cayena (by Casall). Steiner stopped the clock in 60.93 seconds. Belgium's Olympic rider, Jérome Guery followed in a third place with the new ride, the 9-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Instit de Jucaso (by Cooper van de Heffinck). The pair crossed the finish in 61.86 seconds. The top five was completed by Marcus Ehning (Calanda) and Denis lynch (Ho Go van de Padenborre) in a fourth and fifth place. Ho Go (Darco x Chin Chin) is a full brother of the top show jumping stallion, Iron Man van de Padenborre. Earlier today it was Switzerland's Iris Gautschi and Cartaja (by Cartani) who jumped to victory in the 1.30m CSI Amateur class.
