Last night at the 5* show in Geneva, Marcus Ehning's top horse Plot Blue was officially retired from the sport of Show jumping. The 18 year old stallion (Mr.Blue x Pilot) began his career with Swiss rider Werner Muff before moving to Ehning's yard in 2008. With Ehning, the superstar stallion had countless wins and top placings, including winning Team bronze at the 2009 European Championships, the World Cup Final in Geneva in 2010 and Team gold at the World Championships in the same year. In 2012 they were on the German team at the London Olympics where they finished 12th individually. With wins in Aachen, Lyon, Hickstead, Cannes, St. Gallen and more, the pair have become one of the most successful duo in show jumping. On his official Facebook page, Marcus wrote : "With one smiling and one weeping eye we gave Plot Blue his well-deserved retirement. Thank you to his owner Kathrin Somogyi for the years of trust, and for giving him this well-deserved retirement as a breeding stallion in his familiar home in Borken." We'd like to wish 'Plotty' a happy retirement. Photo's ©Equnews.fr
