With the victory he shifted three strong compretitors from Sweden to the places two to four. It was a close call in the Longines ranking class judged on penalties and time, as only 0.1 seconds determined the winner. Mario Wilson Fernandes and his Selle Francais gelding Tidelio des Nauves (by Fidelio du Thot) had the luck on their side, crossing the finish in clear 59:74 seconds. Swedens Irma Karlsson produced another fast round aboard the 15-years-old mare Balahe (by Baloubet du Rouet) but had to accept rank 2 after finishing in 59:86 seconds. Douglas Lindelöw, competing with the Cardento - son Zacramento, placed third with a clear round in 60:98 seconds. Petronella Andersson and the KWPN-bred Burburry R (by Pacific) completed the Swedish trio, by securing rank 4 in 61:30 seconds.
