Qatar’s Ali Yousef Al Rumaihi won the opening class of the 9th Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard in fine style this morning with 8-year-old Gunder, collecting his first LGCT CSI5* class win of the season. Rumaihi beat fast home rider Gert-Jan Bruggink (NED) and Vita 24 by just 0.06s. Third went to Constant van Paesschen (BEL) and Citizenguard Million Dreams - his tenth LGCT top three finish of the season! Rumaihi and Gunder proved the top combination in a world-class field which included Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE), Daniel Deusser (GER) and Kent Farrington (USA).The riders took to the spotless Valkenswaard Grand Prix grass arena this morning, bathed in beautiful sunshine. The course from Uliano Vezzani was a welcoming one that produced 29 double clears from the 50 starters.
