Retirement for Lorenzo de Luca's Armitages Boy

After a fantastic career the now seventeen year old Armitages Boy will retire from the sport. The Armitage x Feo son will be focusing on his breeding career. Armitages Boy was competing at the highest level in the sports with Italy's Lorenzo de Luca. He was bred by Edwin Oude Kampuis in Hengelo, the Netherlands. "We couldn't keep up  the demand for the Breeding sport," states Stephan Conter. "Therefor our team and the owners decided to retire Armitages Boy from the sport and let him focus 100% on his breeding activities." De Luca took over the reins from Aymeric de Ponnat (FRA) back in 2016. With De Ponnat the stallion started his succesful career with a team victory in the 2013 Nations Cup Final in Barcelona, following up by winning the Nations Cup of La Baule in 2014. Around that time the combination also finished on a eleventh place in the European Championships of Herning. Right before he was transferred to De Luca the combination finished in a fourth place at the Grand Prix of Dinard (FRA). It was then Italy's Lorenzo de Luca who took place in the saddle. This pair had quit the fantastic run with several great results at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid, Mexico and London. But also by taking third place in the World Cup competition in Leipzig earlier this year. Their last competition together was last month in Wellington were there was a ninth place. The stallion will from now on focus on his breeding career.
