Richard Howley victorious in Grand Prix at the Sunshine Tour

In Vejer De La Frontera, Spain, the before last week of the Sunshine Tour came to an end. The highlight of today for sure was the CSI3* Big Tour Grand Prix. Eleven combinations managed to get in the jump-off. The victory was for Ireland. Richard Howley rode a clear round with Calmond in a time of 39.22 seconds. This combination was a second faster than Dutch rider Eric Van der Vleuten and Eric Lamaze's former top horse, Zigali P S. Van der Vleuten did a nice try to get the gold medal, but was just not fast enough in 40.60 seconds. Spain's Eduardo Alvarez Aznar completed the top three with Fidux. They finished with zero penalties in 40.90 seconds. Further in the top five we saw Ivan Serrano Saez with Chaccman and Gonzalo Añon Suarez with Toledo Du Phare. They got respectively zero penalties in 42.26 seconds and four penalties in 40.93 seconds. Click here for the results.
