Riveur du Hurtebise retires after disappointing start at World Cup

Yesterday didn't turn out as planned for Kevin Staut and his Reveur du Hurtebise (f. Kashmir van Schuttershof). During the first finale of the World Cup, Reveur kicked five fences down, resulting in Staut going out of the ring with 20 penalties... Immediately the owner of the horse and Staut decided it was time to retire the 17-year old Olympic horse. The news was spread through the Facebook page of Hares des Coudrettes. "Tonight didn't go as planned with Rêveur de Hurtebise, but we don't blame him", HDC writes. "He was an amazing partner for Kevin, but he did a lot for the French team as well. With his 17 years of age, he doesn't have to prove anything anymore. With big respect we say goodbye to him as a competition horse, he deserved his retirement". The Kashmir van Schuttershof son had a lot of succes with Staut on the international circuit. This combination won the Rolex IJRC Top Ten and won a golden medal at the Olympics.
