Rolf Göran-Bengtsson wins Gothenburg Throphy in front of his home crowd

In Gothenburg the 'Gothenburg Throphy' has just ended. 30 combinations entered the arena for this 1m55 class. Eight of them managed to jump a clear first round and came back for the all-deciding jump-off. Four of them were Swedish riders so the Swedish public was in for a thrilling jump-off. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Quick results

  1. Rolf Göran Bengtsson - Oak Grove's Carlyle
  2. Irma Karlsson - Chacconu
  3. Stephanie Holmèn - Flip's little Sparrow
_________________________________________________________________________________________ Ludger Beerbaum was the first rider to start in the second round. He and Cool Feeling (f. Cornardo NRW) rode a very fast round, but a penalty on the second fence meant he was not in it to win it today. The first clear round came from the Swedish rider Irma Karlsson. This lady rider cleared the course with Chaccuno (f. Chacco-Blue) in 35,47 seconds. The Swedish Stephanie Holmen rode a very fast round as well with Flip's Little Sparrow. He and her mare finished in 36,60 seconds which would result in a third place. Erica Swartz (Jovita) and Daniel Deusser (Jasmien v. Bisschop) could not keep the zero on the score board. After that it was up to the Belgian rider Gudrun Patteet. She rode an easy round with Sea Coast Valdelamadre Clooney (f. Centeur Z) but kept the wood untouched. This combination finished in 68,49 seconds, good enough for the fourth place. The last rider entering the arena was Rolf Göran-Bengtsson. He took a lot of risk with Oak Grove's Carlyle (f. Casall) and did what the public wanted him to do: wining. He finished in 33,27 seconds, leaving all competition far behind. It is the third time already that Bengtsson wins this trophy.
