This mornings Gold Tour 1.35m class at the Mediterranean Equestran Tour in Oliva Nova went to Egypt with a win for Sameh El Dahan. It was a close call for the Eqyptian rider who just stayed ahead of British Alice Watson and Dominique Hendrickx from Belgium. With only eight riders to go in the Two-Phase-Special course it was El Dahan who produced an amazing second phase in 28.25 seconds with the Zangersheide bred Chiquito Z (by Chellano Z). By doing so he pushed the Belgian Hendrickx and Conveta (by Kashmir van Schuttershof), who had been leading for a long time with a clear in 29.58 seconds, down the leaderboard. As last rider on course Watson and her Kec Havana (by Aldatus Z) did make El Dahan sweat as the pair seemed to be going for the winning time. When the pair crossed the finish the Eqyptian rider could relax as the time on the scoreboard was set to 28.82 seconds, just 0.58 seconds under the winning time. Not only Watson in good shape this morning as fellow Brits Ellen Whitaker and Dominic Webb also produced superb clear rounds. Whitakter finished on fourth, behind Hendrickx, after a ride aboard Fleur in 29.95 seconds. Whilst Webb followed on fifth place with his KWPN bred Alvatore (by Salvatore). In the second ring it was the French rider Benjamin Palatsi that could not be beaten in the CSI1* Bronye Tour. Palatsi took not only the first spot with his Aressa M (by. Dollar du Murier), but also claimed the second place with Bakti du Sudre (by Quaprice Boimargot Quincy*Quap). Swiss Annick Talbot finished in third with Roxanne M.L. (by Chatman)
