Last year Ukrain's investor, Oleksandr Onyshchenko acquired the gelding. After competing Saxo himself at the beginning this year it was Rene Tebbel who took over the reins in spring jumping to a runner-up position in the CSI4* Grad Prix of St Tropez.

This week Saxo debuts under the saddle of his new Japan rider, Mike Kawai at the CSI5* Longines Global Champions Tour in Valkenswaard.

The gelding was produced at an international level by France's Cédric Angot. Earlier Kawai already acquired Jérome Guery's former top horse, Celvin.
