Shane Sweetnam continues Irish streak in Dublin with Accumulator win

The Irish riders have been dominating their home ground at the Dublin Horse Show this week. Shane Sweetnam started today by continuing that lucky Irish winning streak when he won the Accumulator class with 15 year old stallion Cyklon (Cardento x Cortus). In this class, the riders not only had to accumulate the most points but they were also going against the clock. As number 33 to go, Sweetnam had a tough task ahead of him as he had to beat the ones who had gone before him while also putting the pressure on the riders still to come. He went into the lead with 8 riders still to go, stopping the clock at 46.10 seconds with the full 65 points. Shane's teammate Cian O Connor took second place with the 9 year old stallion Aramis 573 (Askari x Campione) while Swedish rider Angelie von Essen completed the podium with the 14 year old gelding Cream Sheridan (Cappucino x Irco Mena). Billy Twomey (IRL) and Jessica Springsteen (USA) took fourth and fifth place respectively. FULL RESULTS
