Simon Delestre's Hermes Ryan back in training

At the Olympic Games in Rio the eleven year old gelding Hermes Ryan (s. Hugo Gesmeray) ridden by Simon Delestre got injured in his stable. He had a small fracture in the lead joint and Simon Delestre's Olympic dream with the chestnut came to an early end . The chestnut got some time to recover from his injury and started working again a few days ago. He is being worked on the flat now and by the end of the year he should jump a little bit at home. Simon Delestre says on his Facebook page: "It has been some days now that Hermes Ryan has returned to a more intense training, his physical state allowing him to flat very normally. He should jump a little bit at home by the end of the year, he his in a perfect state of mind, mostly thanks to my amazing team who takes great care of him. I will take all time necessary to put him back into competition in the best conditions possible."
