Dutch rider Marc Houtzager has together with Stoeterij Sterrehof, decided to retire his 2012 London Olympic mount Sterrehof's Tamino (Numero Uno x Farmer) from the sport of Show jumping. The 15 year old KWPN gelding had been a strong member of the Dutch team and together with Marc, helped towards a team silver medal at the 2012 Olympics. In the same year the pair won the Gucci Paris Masters Grand Prix and the World Cup Qualifier in Olympia, London. Unfortunately for Tamino, he suffered from an injury that kept him out of the sport for two years. When he did make a comeback in the Winter of 2014, Houtzager and his team no longer felt that Tamino could jump at the highest level again. The decision was therefore made to retire him from the sport. Photo : Equnews.be Source
