Steve Davenport passed away at age 73

On Facebook we read the sad news that Steve Davenport, father of Richard and James Davenport and a great supporter of both throughout their showjumping careers, passed away on 24 January aged 73. "Former National Hunt jockey Steve turned his expertise to sporthorse breeding with several making successful showjumpers on the International stage, including Newton Nickel (now with Dan Neilson and Stacey Willsone), One Man (now with Michel Hendrix) and One Endeavour (jumping at 3* level with James). His legacy will live on in the numerous up-and-coming youngsters. RIP Steve, you will be sadly missed on the show circuit. Thoughts and condolences are with the family, wife Jean and Richard and James."
