Today the Belgium Championships for seven year horses turned out to be a clash of the titans until the last rider in the arena. Nico Baerts was the last to take the start in a Jump-Off of seven. Baerts and the Zangersheide-bred gelding, Cicini Z crossed the finish clear in 35.80 seconds, just not fast enough to beat reigning champion, Thierry Goffinet. Goffinet speeded to victory in last year's Championships, this year the show jumping rider claimed victory aboard Starhorses' Kannabis van de Bucxtale (by Contact vd Heffinck). The pair was unbeatable in a time of 35.31 seconds. The stage was completed by Jan Van Dyck and Eristoff van de Zuuthoeve (by Ogano Sitte). Aboard the sire Van Dyck stopped the clock in 37.32 seconds. Only these three combinations succeeded in a clear finish. Lieven Devos and Kusama (by Diamant de Semilly) followed in a fourth place while Christophe Vanderhasselt completed the top five with Oceans Skills. CLICK HERE FOR THE RESULTS
