Top show jumpers are heading for Bordeaux

Scott Brash, still the FEI Ranked World Number One, heads the list of visitors to Jumping Bordeaux, one of the highlights of the indoor calendar. It includes one of the last qualifiers for the World Cup. Brash will be joined by Laura Renwick and Michael Whitaker for Great Britain. Whitaker currently holds 22nd place in the points table to qualifiy for the Finals in Gothenburg next month but the placings are tight and  a few more points would not go amiss. Renwich and Brash would almost certainly need a top ten finish this weekend to be sure of going through. However the competition will be extremely fierce and includes many riders familiar to British audiences like Christian Ahlmann, Simon Delestre, Denis Lynch and Emanuele Gaudiano, in addition to the reigning champion, Steve Guerdat.
