The 2017 American Gold Cup CSI4*-W is set to return to Old Salem Farm on Wednesday, September 13-17, 2017 in North Salem, NY. In total, nine nations will be represented by the 62 international athletes.
Included in this year’s line up are USA riders McLain Ward, Beezie Madden, Christine McCrea, Margie Engle, Leslie Howard, Mario Deslauriers, and Brianne Goutal, Lucy Deslauriers, Jennifer Gates, Eve Jobs, McKayla Langmeier, Catherine Tyree, Molly Ashe Cawley, Heather Caristo-Williams, Peter Lutz, Quentin Judge, Katherine Dinan, Charlie Jacobs, Georgina Bloomberg, Lauren Tisbo, Jack Towell, Andy Kocher, Callan Solem, and many others.
Representing Ireland, Shane Sweetnam — who helped clinch team gold at the Longines FEI European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, and won the $50,000 Longines Cup CSI4* at the 2017 Hampton Classic— will be joined by Paul O’Shea, the 2015 American Gold Cup winner Richie Moloney, and Daniel Coyle, to name a few.
South America will be represented by Argentina’s Luis Pedro Biraben and Ramiro Quintana, and Brazil’s Luiz Francisco De Azevedo, Alexandre Gadelha and Fabio Leivas Da Costa. Europe will be represented by Germany’s Andre Thieme, Russia’s Liubov Kochetova, and Switzerland’s Morgane Dassio and Beat Mändli.
Canada’s Keean White and Isabelle Lapierre — who won the first leg of the North American League of the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping — will join the North Americans in New York. Puerto Rico’s Vasco Flores will also make the trip.
The 2017 American Gold Cup will play host to a number of important FEI-ranking competitions, culminating in the prestigious $216,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping New York CSI4*-W, most recently won by the USA’s Kent Farrington and the 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare Gazelle (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Indoctro). Also on the agenda is the $35,000 Don Little Memorial Welcome Stake CSI4* on Thursday, the $86,000 American Gold Cup Qualifier CSI4*-W, presented by Windsor Show Stables, on Friday, and the $86,000 Fidelity Investments® Classic CSI4* on Saturday.
