Victory in Arezzo stayes in Italian hands

In the three star competition from the Italian Toscana Tour in Arezzo it was home rider Giampiero Garofalo who rode to victory in the 1m50 with his Luce del Castagno (by Campione) in just 32.57 seconds. Spanish rider Fernando Fourcade Lopez ended in second place together with his Ascot di San Patrignano in 33.04 seconds. He stayed ahead of Dutch rider Glenn Knoester and his Indoctro son Clint Easter who ended in third place with 33.13 seconds. The top five was then completed by French's Harold Boisset and his T'obetty du Domaine (by Kashmier van het Schuttershof) in fourth place with 33.74 seconds, followed by America's Michael Hughes and his Zerlin M (by Concorde) with whom he ended in fifth place in 34.24 seconds.
