Will Simpson Goes 1-2 in Week II Welcome at HITS Coachella

With the first week of winter competition under their belts, horses and riders returned to sport their skill for the second week of shows in the Resort Capital of the World. Wednesday of Desert Ciruit II kicked off with the $5,000 Johnson Horse Transportation and everyone was hunting for a slice of the prize. Tiffany Sullivan took home the blue-ribbon win in Week I’s class, but the team to beat this week would be Will Simpson aboard The Dude, owned by Nicole Walker. Not only would Simpson garner the victory, but he would also take home second-place piloting La Mirage 16, owned by Aimwell Equestrian Ventures, LLC. Simpson and The Dude stole the victory with a lightning-fast round in a five-horse jump-off in 33.193 seconds. That time bested Simpson’s second-place time of 34.094 with La Mirage 16. Mattias Ekeroth rode For Luck, owned by Mattias Keroth, LLC., to the third-place prize. They came in just behind Simpson by a tenth of a second in 34.529. Fourth place was Michelle Parker and Vancouver 45, owned by Cross Creek Farms, Inc. Rounding out the top five was Lisa Carlsen riding Parette.
