Team Brazil wins the Nations Cup of La Baule after jump-off with three

In an exciting jump-off between Belgium, Brazil and Sweden, it was the Brazilian team that went home with the victory of the Nations Cup in La Baule. Belgium was the defending champion and went home with silver. After a jumping fault by Von Eckermann in the jump-off, it became bronze for Sweden.

With a total of eight penalties for both defending champion Belgium, Brazil and Sweden, it was ultimately Brazil who kept Belgium from a second consecutive title in La Baule! For Sweden, Henrik von Eckermann came last in the jump-off with Iliana (by Cardento). The 10-year-old KWPN mare was fast but tapped a bar out of the scoop, sending Sweden home with the bronze. Marlon Modolo Zanotelli gave his team the victory after a clear round on Grand Slam VDL, a KWPN stallion son by Cardento.

In the individual competition, only four riders kept the double clear. The individual win went to France's Julien Epaillard in the saddle of 10-year-old Dubai du Cedre (by Baloubet du Rouet). Rodrigo Pessoa came in second with Major Tom (by Vagabond de La Pomme) ahead of Wilm Vermeir and Iq van het Steentje (by Toulon). Ben Maher on Faltic HB (by Baltic VDL) was the last double clear.
