The top five of the first 4* class of the day in El Jadida couldn't be closer together. With a difference of less than a second between gold and fifth place, any wider turn was punished. In the end, the victory went to the Swiss Elian Baumann on the back of Clintfino (Clinton).
Baumann sent the 12-year-old gray gelding Clintfino through the second phase of the 1.40m in a sharp time of 25.28 seconds, and thus won the gold. The German David Will stopped the chrono at 25.61 seconds with Mexico (Level) and conquered the second place. Exactly 10 hundredths after Will, Roberto Turchetto also finished clear, scoring the bronze in the saddle of the 10-year-old KWPN gelding Hurricane VDL (VDL Zirocco Blue).
At 20 hundredths from the podium, Dutchman Niels Kersten placed fourth on High Hopes SFN (Numero Uno), ahead of compatriot Leon Thijssen on the back of Zeppe Blue (VDL Zirocco Blue).
