During the first 4* class of the day in Saint Tropez there was no holding back from the host country's riders. At the top of the fully French top five was Max Thirouin in the saddle of Utopie Villelongue (Mylord Carthago).
In the 1.45m high class, directly ridden on faults and time, Max Thirouin trumped the competition in front of his own audience by being the only one to stay clear under 63 seconds. Nicolas Delmotte and Citadin du Chatellier (L'Arc de Triomphe) took silver with a time of 63.16 seconds. Philippe Rozier and Prestigio Ls La Silla (Presley Boy) took just a second longer and finished third.
Just off the podium, Jean Luc Mourier finished fourth in the saddle of Kielekoo Van T&L (Carabas Vd Wateringhoeve), before again Nicolas Delmotte who closed the top five on the back of Gravity Lch (Andiamo Z).
