Unlucky turn for Shane Rose as Shanghai Joe has to be put to sleep

Shane Rose was pretty unlucky last weekend at Badminton Horse Trials. During the cross country the rider got dismounted. But all was fine after the fall. However his horse Shanghai Joe went on as a pathfinder to his stables in Badminton House. On his way there he slipped on the asphalt and got severely injured to the shoulder. Quick response of the team and the veterenairians on site did give the horse a good fighting chance. But after a few days at the clinic the the team found that the injuries that "Nugget" had attracted were so severe that the horse had to be put to sleep. This is a great loss for Shane Rose and his team who loved Shanghai Joe for everything he did. "He will never be forgotten!"
