One of the horses moving on is the eight-year-old Zangersheide gelding Cold As Ice King Z (Comme Il Faut x Carthago), bred by Loeske Veenendaal. Hutchins trained the gelding himself up to international 1.45m level for young horses, consistently delivering clear rounds. Their most recent appearance was at the CSI4* in Vejer de la Frontera, where the pair showcased their talent on the international stage.

Also leaving Hutchins’ stables is the ten-year-old KWPN mare Kyrah (Zapatero VDL x VDL Zirocco Blue), bred by W.G. Raming-de Geus. A consistent performer, Kyrah placed fifth in the CSI3* Grand Prix in Cabourg, France* earlier this year and claimed a Medium Tour victory in the 1.40m CSI2 in Deurne, the Netherlands*. She also reached the podium in the 1.45m CSI4* class during this year’s Sunshine Tour and previously placed in the 1.45m Longines Ranking class at the CSI3* in Vejer de la Frontera.

Hutchins is, of course, sad to see these horses go. “I focus on developing my sport-and trading stable. Unfortunately, selling is a part that allows me to develop my stable further. Nevertheless, I will keep a close eye on these amazing reference horses.”
