The CSI4* Grand Prix CWD de la Ville de Cabourg brought the competition week to a spectacular conclusion on the Normandy coast. Contested over a demanding 1.55m track with a jump-off, the feature class attracted a strong international field and produced a closely fought battle at the top.
Victory went to Francois Xavier Boudant aboard Hitot de Riverland (Comme Il Faut 5). The pair delivered one of only three double-clear performances of the competition and stopped the clock in 43.27 seconds in the jump-off, securing the biggest victory of the weekend.
The battle for the win remained open until the very end, with Julien Epaillard finishing just behind the winner. Riding the Belgian Warmblood stallion Le Coultre de Muze (Presley Boy), Epaillard produced another faultless jump-off round and crossed the finish line in 43.42 seconds, less than two-tenths of a second behind Boudant.
Third place went to Robin van Thillo and My Jewel's Magic Touch (Stakkato). The Belgian combination also maintained a clean score throughout both rounds and completed the jump-off in 45.04 seconds to secure a place on the podium.
The remaining positions in the top five were occupied by French riders. Alexis Gautier guided Dairzel Duverie (Air Jordan) to fourth place after collecting four penalties in the jump-off while posting a time of 46.48 seconds. Charles Henri Ferme completed the top five aboard Katmandu (Kannan), also on four penalties, in a time of 48.91 seconds.
