On June 22, 32-year-old rider Cathleen Driscoll (USA) suffered a fall during the Grand Prix in Deauville, resulting in brain injury. Her family and friends have now launched a fundraiser to support her rehabilitation.
The news was shared on Instagram by her loved ones:
"On June 22, Cathleen Driscoll fell during the Grand Prix of Deauville. She was airlifted to a local hospital, and fortunately, surgery was not required. After a 10-day stay, she was deemed stable enough to be transferred to the neurosurgical hospital at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. She is currently undergoing long-term rehabilitation at the Shepherd Center."
