In short
Henrik von Eckermann is world number one for 33rd month in a row
Simon Delestre back in top ten!
Starting tomorrow, it's finally time... the Longines FEI World Cup Finals will kick off in Basel, Switzerland. A total of 41 riders from 22 countries will compete. As the reigning champion, Henrik von Eckermann will start as the current world number one!
oday, the new FEI Longines ranking was published. Although the Swedish rider recently suspected that he would be overtaken by Kent Farrington, he managed to retain his number one spot! This marks the 33rd consecutive month that Von Eckermann remains the world's top-ranked showjumper. With only a 51-point difference, Kent Farrington (USA) follows in second place, ahead of the reigning Olympic champion, Christian Kukuk.
Last week, Kukuk became a father, and this week he jumps three places forward to become the new world number three. He is followed by former Olympic champion Ben Maher (GBR), while the previous number three, Steve Guerdat (SUI), now sits in fifth place.
Max Kühner (AUT) also makes significant progress in the top ten. The Austrian rider jumps two places forward to sixth position, followed by Martin Fuchs (SUI). Richard Vogel (GER) comes next, ahead of Simon Delestre (FRA). The Frenchman won the CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix in Den Bosch last month, as well as the CSI5* Saut Hermès Grand Prix, bringing him back into the top ten—just ahead of former number seven, McLain Ward (USA).
