The Youngster Tour in Aachen received an undeniable Belgian stamp this weekend. Right before the climax of the prestigious Rolex Grand Prix, the young talents took center stage for the grand finale of the Youngster Tour. Just like on Saturday, there was simply no stopping Janika Sprunger and her top talent Victory Music Z (breeder: Walter Lelie) in the final.
Out of the starting field, ten combinations managed to secure a spot in the crucial jump-off. Switzerland's Janika Sprunger is in absolute top form with Victory Music Z (by Vigo d’Arsouilles, breeder: Walter Lelie). After the duo already claimed Saturday's class, they effortlessly repeated the feat in the final. With a lightning-fast and clear round, they captured a well-deserved victory.
The podium was dominated by the Lanaken-based studbook, as second place went to Philipp Weishaupt with the Zangersheide gelding Abderdeen Z (by Aganix du Seigneur). Germany's Rene Dittmer completed the top three, taking third place with Cajero 8 (by Casall).
In Grandmother Gazelle's Footsteps
Nicola Philippaerts guided the Zangersheide-bred B Rockabilly Z to a strong fourth-place finish. The son of Bamako de Muze (out of Ninja JW van de Moerhoeve) proved that the imposing arena in Aachen suits him perfectly. Of course, it's all in the genes: his grandmother is none other than Gazelle Ter Elzen, the mare with whom Nicola's brother, Pieter Philippaerts, won the legendary Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen back in 2019.
