"With him, I won my first five-star Grand Prix events. He even managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio. Thanks to him, I discovered what it means to compete at the very highest level, and I traveled all over the world. He gave me the opportunity to measure myself against the best riders in the world," Guery writes.

"He also meant a great deal to Mathieu: he took his first steps on horseback with him and inherited the love for the sport from a very young age. Thank you, Papi, for everything you gave us. For all the moments of happiness and joy we were able to experience because of you…"

"My thanks also go to his owners, the Woitrin family, for their trust and for giving us the chance to work with this exceptional horse."

In 2013, the AES-approved stallion Papillon Z arrived at Jérôme Guery’s stables. In 2010, the stallion made his international debut under fellow Belgian rider Rik Hemeryck. At the 2012 Belgian Championships, the duo won bronze. Shortly thereafter, Gregory Wathelet and Damien Plume briefly took over the reins.
With Guery, the successes were countless! In their first year together, they won the Grand Prix at the CSIO in Lummen, the five-star competition in Knokke, and the four-star event in Mons.

Our sincere condolences to everyone involved in the life of Papillon Z!
