Julien Gonin secures French 5* win at Lyon Horse Show!

This afternoon saw top-level show jumping in the 1.50m CSI5* class. In the 1.50m Prix Groupama, Julien Gonin kept the victory on home soil. Riding the 10-year-old SF mare, Estrella de la Batia (Diamant de Semilly), Gonin was the only competitor to jump clear in under 57 seconds.

Gonin and the 10-year-old daughter of Diamant de Semilly narrowly beat Romain Duguet, who came in second with the 13-year-old SF gelding, Bel Canto de Boguin (Grenat de Grez HN). Pieter Devos followed in third place for Belgium.

Devos completed the top three riding the 10-year-old KWPN mare, Jarina J (Cicero Z van Paemel).

Just outside the top three, Simon Delestre placed fourth with the 10-year-old BWP mare, Olga van de Kruishoeve (El Torreo de Muze). Rounding out the top five was Olivier Perreau with the nine-year-old GL Events Faustine Sauvage (Kannan).
