A total of eight combinations qualified for the jump-off of the 1.60m Longines Grand Prix in Lyon. With a margin of over one second, Victor Bettendorf (LUX) managed to keep his competitors at bay with the nine-year-old SF mare, Foxy de la Roque (Armitages Boy).
Victor Bettendorf won the Grand Prix with a time of 36.06 seconds. Together with the daughter of Armitages Boy, bred by G. & L.F.O. Ter Harmsel - Zanderink, Bettendorf stayed over one second ahead of Harrie Smolders (NED) and the 15-year-old Monaco N.O.P. (Cassini II, bred by Ralf Leutja).
For the home crowd, Simon Delestre completed the top three. Delestre finished the Grand Prix podium with his 11-year-old Zangersheide stallion, Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado, bred by S-ky Horses S.C.R.I).
The combination thereby relegated the Oslo World Cup winner, Gregory Wathelet (BEL) to fourth place. Wathelet followed just outside the top three with the 11-year-old Double Jeu d'Honvault (Kannan). The top five was completed by Alexa Ferrer and Naiada d'Elsendam Z (Nabab de Rêve).
