The traditional Indoor Derby attracted a large audience tonight. With the crowd cheering for the success of the riders, this unique concept eventually had a USA winner, thanks to Lillie Keenan.
Mel Thijssen and the fifteen-year-old mare Florida Balia NL (Bustique x Lux Z, breeder: J.D. Noeverman, Ommen) had to settle for second place behind the American rider Lillie Keenan in the CSI5* 1.40m Indoor Derby competition. Keenan, together with Opium JW van de Moerhoeve TN (Kannan x Nabab de Reve, breeder: De Moerhoeve), jumped to victory. Tom Schellekens also achieved an excellent result, securing third place. Schellekens finished in third with the KWPN mare Interessant van de Zietfort (Damian W x Padinus).
Just outside the stage, fellow rider Henk van de Pol and No Fathers Girl (Verde Gaio x Eldorado van de Zeshoek) had to concede to the German rider Hans-Dieter Dreher. Dreher finished fourth with Jiniki (Dallas x Cantos) under saddle.
