In an exciting CSI4* Small Grand Prix, Portuguese rider Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida won in the saddle of the 10-year-old KWPN mare Karonia.L. The duo was more than four seconds faster than Swiss rider Anthony Bourquard.
At a height of 1.45m this afternoon, the Small Grand Prix was jumped under the Spanish sun at the Sunshine Tour. It was Portuguese rider Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida who claimed victory with the Harley daughter, Karonia.L (Harley x G-Ramiro Z, breeder: Th. Lemmens). Swiss rider Anthony Bourquard finished in second place, with a four-second difference. Bourquard rode the ten-year-old stallion Festival Semilly (Tornesch x Orame), bred by Richard Levallois. Finally, French rider Marie Demonte completed the top three with Forban de Beliard (Upsilon x Diamant de Semilly).
Just off the podium, Camila Mazza De Benedicto impressed in fourth place with the Vagabond de la Pomme son, Barbarossa Dree Boeken (breeder: Zuchthof Dree Boeken KG). Graham Gillespie finished in fifth place with Veneno (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet).
