Many top names are appearing at the start in Abu Dhabi. In preparation for the World Cup Grand Prix, a 1.45m Speed & Handiness class was on the agenda. As one of the first to compete, Henrik von Eckermann set an unbeatable time with his 15-year-old KWPN mare, Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue).
Henrik von Eckermann and Glamour Girl, a 15-year-old mare bred by Stoeterij Gaesbeek, kept all the rails in the cups. After a clear finish in 80.16 seconds, the pair secured the eventual victory. Sophie Hinners followed on the podium with the 12-year-old mare, Come Away Flamingo Z (Cardento), pushing David Simpson and the 11-year-old BWP stallion, Pjotr van de Kruishoeve (Bamako de Muze), into third place.
Simpson and the stallion bred by Eric Polfliet were followed by Kristaps Neretnieks. Aboard Corlansky-Pro (Corlani), he finished ahead of rider Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida with Solidat (Semper Fi).
