The Šamorín Danube Champions Tour CSI3* Gold Tour Grand Prix over 1m55 delivered a spectacular finale. Fifty-four of the sport’s finest took on the technical 1.55m track, with just fourteen riders earning the coveted place in the jump-off. What followed was a showcase of daring lines, bold gallops, and ice-cold focus, where the difference between victory and defeat was measured in fractions of a second.
The top five riders all produced double clears, making speed the decisive factor. Czech rider Ales Opatrny and his nimble partner Kapsones W (Cornet Obolensky) delivered a masterclass in tight turns and relentless forward momentum, stopping the clock at 40.18 seconds—the only pair to break the 41-second barrier. Their victory was built on risk-taking at the vertical after the water tray and a daring gallop to the last oxer.
Just over a second behind, Saudi Arabia’s seasoned competitor Ramzy Al Duhami guided Untouchable 32 (Van Helsing) to 41.46 seconds, combining smoothness with just enough pace to secure second place. Germany’s Hannes Ahlmann aboard Cayadino (Cayado) came close with 41.73 seconds, showing a balanced approach but leaving a fraction of a second on the rollback to the penultimate fence.
In fourth, Lebanon’s Roger Chammas and Glondon Di San Giovanni (Glock's London) clocked 42.23 seconds, riding with calculated precision that hinted at a long-term campaign rather than all-out speed. Closing the top five, Czech rider Nikola Bielikova with Carison (Campbel Czech) put in a determined round of 42.55 seconds, showcasing the nation’s depth of talent in international show jumping.
