The Champagne Piaff Trophy CSI2* Grand Prix, held during the Longines Global Champions Tour of London, delivered a gripping finale that showcased top-level sport, split-second decisions, and high stakes at 1.45m. The top five placings were decided not only by clear rounds but by nerve and precision against the clock.
It was Pollyanna Gredley who stole the spotlight aboard Kingsborough Kasper, a 12-year-old black Irish Sport Horse gelding by Kannan. Their first-round clear in 79.53 seconds was followed by a flawless jump-off in 42.83 seconds, securing victory.
Close behind, George Whitaker piloted Peanut, a 12-year-old bay AES stallion by Barrichello, to second place. His 75.06 in round one set up a smooth, forward jump-off in 43.25 seconds, leaving him just fractions off the win but still with a strong second place.
Third place went to Ireland’s Ciaran Nallon and Serendepety (Stolzenberg). They clocked a swift 75.63 in the opening round and the fastest jump-off time of the day at 40.48 seconds — but a single pole on the ground cost them four faults, pushing them off the top step.
Thomas Plaster on Vereno I (GBR) took fourth with a steady approach. The 10-year-old bay stallion by Cristallo jumped clear in round one in 77.81 seconds, but like Nallon, had a rail in the jump-off despite a competitive 42.65 finish.
Rounding out the top five, Mia Grey and Galtur (GBR) — the 15-year-old grey AES gelding by Cornet’s Stern — were clear in 77.21 in the first round. In the jump-off, their bold pace of 42.86 seconds came with two fences down, giving them 8 faults but still securing a top five ranking.
