During the Speed Championship at the Dublin Horse Show 2025, the audience was treated to pure excitement. With 25 international combinations at the start and a course that invited risk-taking, it was all about finding the perfect balance between daring and control. Every second counted, and from start to finish it was a competition in which the leaderboard was constantly being turned upside down.
It was Commandant Geoff Curran who, representing Ireland, made the home crowd cheer with a winning time of 60.57 seconds aboard Dhf Alliance (Douglas). Just 0.47 seconds later came Kevin Jochems with Prada Di Costa M (Vannan), securing not only the silver medal but also showing that the Dutch riders could easily keep up with the high pace.
Brazilian veteran Rodrigo Pessoa rode Dhalida (Diamant De Semilly) to a solid third place in 61.41 seconds, while Irishman Jordan Coyle with For Gold (For Fashion) was only 0.09 seconds behind him.
The top five was completed by Tom Wachman with Hawaii (Comme Il Faut), who, in 62.37 seconds, placed the fourth Irish combination among the highest ranks.
