In Gorla Minore, Italy, top-level sports took center stage today. The main 1.50m CSI4* class was a direct speed competition. Sergio Alvarez Moya and the 9-year-old gelding Quadrado (Comme Il Faut) secured the victory.
With a finishing time of 40.48 seconds, Sergio Alvarez Moya kept the competition at bay with the nine-year-old Quadrado (Comme Il Faut). The duo relegated Michael Viehweg and the 12-year-old Contario (Contendro I) to second place. The German pair finished clear in 41.57 seconds, narrowly ahead of Ellen Whitaker and the 10-year-old Korlenski (Cornet Obolensky).
Riding her KWPN mare, the British rider pushed Belgium's Andres Vereecke into fourth place. Vereecke just missed out on a podium finish with his own mount, Halima Van het Bonte Hof Z (Hos d'O). Davide Vitale completed the top five. Competing in front of his home crowd, the Italian rider cleared the course faultlessly with Earl Grey Z (Elliot van ter Hulst) in 43.50 seconds.
