Gold: Rome Gladiators

Nobody could stop the Rome Gladiators from claiming the GCL Super Cup Final victory in Prague. Peder Fredricson put in two stellar rounds on Alcapone des Carmille (Diamant de Semilly) which proved to be crucial in the end. Yuri Mansur trusted Qh Alfons Santo Antonio (Aromats) to jump like a star while Emanuele Gaudiano saddled Esteban de Hus (Cornet Obolensky) for the challenging course. The team eventually finished with 12 points in 215.28 seconds.

Peder Fredricson: "We are very happy, this is an amazing show and to win here is just amazing. My course walk routine is firstly to have the course plan before I even walk the course so I can learn it already. Then I walk the course for the meters, then again for the strides. And then just do it right! (laughs) It's very exciting to compete here and anything can happen so I'm not surprised there were a lot of faults made, it keeps everyone on there toes."

Yuri Mansur: "The team spirit we had is one thing I will remember forever! It's difficult how I 'knew' we were going to win, but I just felt the team spirit and it just felt like we were going to do great."

Emanuele Gaudiano: "I will never forget this amazing team! My horse needed a bit of motivation and canter to jump the big fences, so maybe it was a bit fast and we had one down. We were strong in the end, so it was a good way to come here to fight."

Silver: Valkenswaard United

The silver spot was claimed by Valenswaard United. Equal on 28 points with the two following teams, but just that tiny bit faster, Marcus Ehning, Hans-Dieter Dreher and Gilles Thomas made sure to take home the silver medal. They choose Coolio 42 (Casalito), Elysium (VDL Zirocco Blue) and Ermitage Kalone (Catoki) to ride the course. The team finished with a total time of 199.33 seconds.

Gilles Thomas: “After the first round, I didn’t think we would still end up on the podium in this course. I think we also had a bit of luck that quite a few teams finished on 28 points. It's always a tough course here so during the course walk we were already discussing that we had to be fast.”

Hans-Dieter Dreher: "We were a bit unlucky in the first round but we kept on fighting. I'm super proud of this team!"

Marcus Ehning: “My horse jumped brilliantly, but it’s not easy to ride here, I still find it just as challenging.”

Bronze: New York Empire

The New York Empire team completed the podium in 203.33 seconds. Scott Brash delivered two crucial clears for his team on Hello Jefferson (Cooper van de Heffinck). Bertram Allen also put in a clear round in the second part of the competition with Pacino Amiro (Pacino). Denis Lynch and Cordial (Casall) completed the team.

Denis Lynch "The podium means everything, also for everyone behind the team. Also a big thanks to the organisation for setting up this amazing event, the stadium's filled each and every night and the atmosophere is just amazing."
