This evening, the veterinary inspection for the show jumping horses took center stage in Aachen. The official start of the FEI Jumping World Championship is scheduled for Wednesday. For Spain and Denmark, one horse will need to be re-inspected on Tuesday.
Tuesday, August 18 – Training
In the evening, riders and horses will have the chance to familiarize themselves with the arena under floodlights. Riders will be able to do flatwork (dressage training) on the grass arena.
Wednesday, August 19 – First Competition Day
Wednesday features the first leg of the championship: a 1.55m Table C (speed and handiness class). Each combination's score is converted into a point total. The time is multiplied by a coefficient of 0.5. The rider with the lowest number of points takes the lead with 0 points, and the remaining penalty points reflect the difference compared to the leader.
Thursday, August 20 – Second Competition Day (Round One)
The second competition is a 1.65m Table A class. The results determine the starting order for the second round!
Friday, August 21 – Third Competition Day, Round Two (Team Final)
The top 10 teams following Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20 will take to the start, alongside the 60 highest-ranked individual combinations.
Sunday, August 23 – Fourth Competition Day, 2 Rounds (Individual Final)
The individual champion will be crowned this coming Sunday. A Table A with a jump-off set at a maximum height of 1.65m awaits. The top 25 individual combinations from the championship so far will start in Round A. The top 12 following Round A will move on to Round B.
