Irish top rider Cian O'Connor has welcomed two new talents to his stable. Harrie Smolders bids farewell to Kaspar R, and Kentucky TN is also moving to O'Connor’s yard! The Irishman continues to build a solid foundation for his sporting future.
Harrie Smolders sees his CSI5* horse, Kaspar R (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Baloubet du Rouet), leave his stables. Together with Smolders, the 10-year-old gelding jumped to second place in the CSI5*-W 1.55m in Stuttgart last November. In Basel, the pair also finished second in the 1.55m Championat of Basel. Earlier this year, they secured another podium finish in the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix of Sentower Park.
“We continue to invest in young, talented horses,” says O’Connor. “For now, we’re slightly deviating from that path with the purchase of two Grand Prix horses to ensure our sporting future.”
O’Connor, who is re-entering the world’s top 10 this month, is also welcoming Zoe Osterhoff’s Kentucky TN (Verdi TN x Gratianus). With Kentucky TN, Osterhoff recently placed third in the CSIO3* Grand Prix of Mannheim.
